About this fundraiser:

Who’s ready to shell-ebrate and seas the day for a good cause? Our students are getting ready to dive in for a sand-sational scamper around the track at our annual Move-A-Thon: Under the Salish Sea! This sea-themed fundraiser is held during the school day. It combines goal-setting, movement, togetherness, and good fun to raise the money needed to support an entire year of learning opportunities plus all of the fun traditions that make Happy Valley extra special! One thing is for shore: if we can net all the funds we need now, we’ll be off the hook for fundraising for the rest of the year.

Our students have been working on a fin-tastic fitness and goal-setting curriculum with our P.E. Specialist Mrs. Flink in preparation for this mer-mazing Move-A-Thon! They're learning to convert laps to miles (6 laps is a mile!) and do other fitness-related calculations. Everyone is encouraged to do their best and set goals based on their own abilities. There is also a social-emotional component to the Move-A-thon that teaches students how to support each other, display integrity on the track, and follow safety guidelines while having a swimmingly good time together.

So, don’t be salty, let’s get kraken! Please consider supporting our event by making a donation on this page. We need to raise at least $95 per student to reach our goal. Thank you for supporting this fundraiser which brings together the whole school to move like a manta ray, sway like seaweed, be active and have a whale of a time to support Happy Valley Elementary! We’re also hoping to lure in volunteers to help, so don’t krill our vibe! Sea you there!

Please note that as per our PTA bylaws, 10% of funds raised by the Happy Valley fall fundraiser are shared with other Bellingham schools based on the number of students receiving free and reduced lunch as part of the "Elementary Partners Equity Project." By helping Happy Valley, you're also helping strengthen the fabric of our community by giving a hand to the students with the most critical need. Shrimp-ly amazing.
