About this fundraiser:

Down East Girls Softball League is a non-profit organization. As such, we depend on grants, corporate sponsors and donations from our supporters to help keep registration costs down for our member families. The funds raised from the Hit-a-thon will go directly to supplement registration costs, purchase equipment, funding athlete scholarships, supplement softball skills clinics and training camps, and other operating expenses. Our 2024 Hit-a-thon Goal is $6,000. To reach this goal we respectfully ask that each young lady aim to raise $100 towards the League goal.

The Down East Girls Softball League (#degslnc) comes from a long rich history and heritage of women’s athletics dating back to the 1930s and 1940s athletic programs at Down East community high schools of Atlantic, Beaufort, Harkers Island, and Smyrna. Many of our League’s team managers, coaches, and players are descendants of those young female athletes.

Down East Girls Softball League is dedicated to realizing the dreams of all young lady athletes. Softball is, and always will be, a part of the Down East culture and tradition.
