About this fundraiser:

The annual North Newark Hit-A-Thon is our largest league wide fundraiser. This fundraiser helps fund our normal operating costs as well as unexpected repairs and park improvements that are necessary to keep NNLL in great condition.

The focus of this year's Hit-A-Thon will be to raise money for infield repairs on Field 2 (LMH) at the main park. Rain water and drainage over the last several years has caused a large valley to form through a portion of the infield that runs from the backstop all the way over to the fence along the first base side of the field. Our goal is to raise enough to have the infield regraded to level it out and create new drainage to help correct the issue permanently. We anticipate this work to cost approximately $10,000.

We are also wanting to purchase two portable mounds for fields 2 and 4. Doing so will allow us to reduce expenses related to mound repair and will also allow us to utilize all our fields to accommodate travel teams and tournaments which provide another revenue source for the league. We anticipate these mounds to cost approximately $2,500.

The remaining portion of our fundraising goal will go towards continued operating expenses for the park and our league. We are also researching the possibility of turning field 3 into a Miracle Field that would provide us the opportunity to offer kids with disabilities the opportunity to play ball at North Newark in the future.
