It’s time for the Winter Break Read-a-Thon—for ALL students in ALL grades!

WHAT ARE WE READING FOR?
This year, an anonymous donor will match the first $5,000 in read-a-thon pledges! Let’s raise at least $5,000 to double the money that will go to incredible PTA-funded programs around our school including the library, the garden, lunch and recess counselors, and residencies.

WHO CAN READ?
ALL STUDENTS in ALL GRADES are invited to participate. Younger kids can be read to, practice sounding out words, or listen to audiobooks—any form of reading counts towards minutes read! This year’s top-reading class in K-2 and 3-5 will each receive a fantastical pizza party and a set of books for the classroom library. Be sure to return your log form so that your minutes count for your class!

HOW DO WE COLLECT DONATIONS?
Students can be sponsored by friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors—anyone!—either for minutes read or as a flat amount. Online donations can be entered here, or you can send in cash or checks made out to the PS261 PTA (please put Read-a-Thon in the memo line).

Please return reading logs to your teacher and make payments by Friday, February 28, so we can meet our matching challenge! Be sure to include your child’s name and classroom.
