About this fundraiser:

This January, we lost our beloved senior, Robert Cuadra, to senseless gun violence. In memory of Robert, we are hosting our 1st Annual Gun Violence Awareness Walk on June 6, 2022 (rain date June 8, 2022). Money is being raised to make a memorial donation to a Gun Violence Awareness Foundation and to create a Scholarship Fund in Robert’s name.

Wear Orange began on June 2, 2015, in honor of 15 year old Hadiya Pendleton who was walking through a park when she was murdered by gun violence in Chicago, days after performing at President Obama’s inauguration. After her death, her family and friends decided to stand up, speak out, and Wear Orange to raise awareness about gun violence. Since then orange has been the defining color of the gun violence prevention movement and the month of June has been designated Gun Violence Prevention Month. Wear Orange events are organized to remember lives lost to gun violence and to raise awareness about this public health crisis.

Your donations will help pay for:

  • A memorial donation to a Gun Violence Awareness Foundation
  • To create a scholarship fund in Robert's name.
