Dear Friends and Family,

Our school is holding its very first Read-A-Thon event! This is a fundraiser to help us raise money for our school while also promoting the importance of reading. On Friday, November 6th, Lincoln will support students’ love of reading through a variety of camp-themed activities. Friends and family can donate to sponsor us for our learning and our goal of reading as an entire school for 90 minutes straight! All of the money you donate goes straight to our school!

We will be using the money to purchase materials for our classrooms, go on future study trips, bring in assemblies or speakers and support our enrichment activities or programs.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 for our Lincoln family. I am working to raise $50 all by myself. Would you be willing to sponsor me? You can give any amount of money. You can donate online or send cash/check to Lincoln!

About this fundraiser:

Lincoln Elementary and PTO are excited to announce our first annual Read-a-Thon! This year we will be having our Read-A-Thon the week of November 2nd. During this time, it is our desire that while we work to raise money for our school, we also encourage each student to see reading as a life skill that can take them anywhere! Money raised this year will help to attend future grade level study trips, support classroom technology and enrichment activities and sponsor yearly school wide events and speakers. We are so excited that we can do all this AND enhance our lion’s education with a focus on reading!

The best part of the Read-A-Thon is that the students are not selling anything, and 100% of the profits collected in our Read-A-Thon will be used at our school for our children, unlike product fundraiser sales which net a low 40-50% profit to the school. Additionally, each pledge is 100% tax deductible as we are a not-for-profit organization. Our goal for this year’s Read-A-Thon is for each student to read a total of 90 minutes on the Read-A-Thon day at school and to raise $50 in sponsorships for Lincoln Elementary.

We are a school where student learning thrives and children feel good about the place they call their school. We believe that this is because of the incredible students that attend our school, the awesome staff who believe that relationships with students are key to optimal learning and more importantly the incredible support of our families. We could not engage in the wonderful learning opportunities and the fun things we do here without your monetary support. Please know that no amount is too small. Your ongoing backing and support are both truly appreciated.
