This event is being facilitated by the San Carlos Education Foundation (SCEF), a non-profit fundraising organization that helps the San Carlos School District provide a well-rounded public education for all students.

SUPPORTERS: SCEF works in partnership with parents and the community to support our teachers, as well as core and innovative programs that are vital to an exceptional education. SCEF grants are used to cover the costs of mental health programs, music teachers, technology support, principal site funds, and more. SCEF is also providing critical funds to support distance and hybrid learning due to the impact of COVID-19.

SCEF is hosting the Read-A-Thon as one of its major fundraisers. Every student in the district is encouraged to participate and raise funds by tracking their daily reading minutes during the Read-A-Thon period, which runs from January 25-February 5, 2021. This unprecedented time has forced us to rethink not only the way that we provide education, but also the way we raise funds for our students and schools. We are truly grateful for the continued support that we receive from our parent community and our dedicated local business sponsors.
