About this fundraiser:

The Football Team of Athens Drive HS is using HS football as a platform to shine a spotlight on children with cancer by holding a Touchdown-Pledge-Drive during the month of September 2024. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and the team partnered with Abby's Army ( www.abbysarmync.com ), a local non-profit organization that helps those affected by childhood cancer, to raise funds for this cause. All funds will go to the Foundation to support children affected by cancer and their families. No one should fight alone.

Abby was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in 2016 at the age of 5, had surgery to remove it, and went through radiation and chemotherapy treatments for pediatric brain cancer. Abby is a warrior and a hero for the Athens Dive Football Team, not only fighting through all of this at such a young age, but with her family and the Abby's Army foundation continuing to help affected children with cancer and their families. Abby is now a Freshman, starting to attend Athens Drive HS in 8/2024.

The Athens Drive Football Team wants to dedicate all their games in September (all touchdowns out of overall 10 JV and Varsity games during this timeframe starting 8/23/2024 -9/23/2024) benefitting Abby's Army by asking family, friends and the community to participate in the Athens Drive HS Football Touchdown-Pledge-Drive.

The first Home-Game of the season on 8/30/2024 will be dedicated to Abby's Army and to all children fighting cancer. Abby will be our Guest of Honor, there will be a sales tent with Abby's Army merchandise, the players will have Golden Ribbon stickers on their helmets, the theme for fans for this game will be "Gold Out", so come and out and sparkle in the Friday Nights lights at Jag Stadium at 7pm, supporting Abby's Army and your favorite football team. The team will also host a toy drive for Abby's Army that night, and everyone who brings a toy to the game will be entered into a raffle for 2 tickets for the NC State Football Game on 9/14/2024 against Louisiana @ 12pm. Seats are behind the NC State sideline, Section 22, Row E. Winner will be announced during halftime.
