Next month, I’ll be lacing up my sneakers for our school’s Walk-a-Thon, and I’m thrilled to participate! This event raises funds to support our school’s Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), which provide students like me with opportunities to develop leadership, technical skills, and career readiness in health care, business, engineering, and more.

DC CTSOs are a big part of helping me and my classmates prepare for our future careers, and I’m hoping to raise enough funds to keep these programs going strong. I’m asking for your support by sponsoring me with a pledge of $1 per lap or a flat donation.

Thank you for your encouragement and generosity!

About this fundraiser:

Join us for the DC CTSOs Walk-a-Thon, proudly sponsored by DC ACTE! This exciting event brings together over students, educators, and community supporters to raise funds for DC's Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). Research has shown that CTSOs are crucial in empowering students through leadership development, hands-on learning, and career readiness. This is DC's next workforce!

By participating in the walk-a-thon, you're not just a participant but a crucial supporter of our cause. Your involvement helps us enhance CTSO programs, providing opportunities for students to compete, develop skills, and grow professionally. Our schools and OSSE collectively spend almost $500k annually to support CTSOs with travel, hosting student competitions and conferences, meals, professional attire, and more. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of the over 1,000 students who are members of a CTSO.

Each CTSO chapter will serve as a team, pledging to raise $500. We will walk 20 laps on Thursday, October 30, 20024, at our DC CTSO Fall Leadership Conference. Please consider donating to support our students in Future Farmers of America (FFA), Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), HOSA Future Health Professionals, SkillsUSA, and the Technology Student Association (TSA). No donation is too small, and thank you for your support!

Your donations will help pay for:

  • Hosting Student Conferences ($150k annually)
  • Student Meals ($25 per student)
  • Student Travel ($1500 per student)
  • Professional Attire ($100 per student)
  • Supplies ($100 per chapter)
