About this fundraiser:
The Santacruzan (from the Spanish santa cruz, "holy cross") is the ritual pageant held on the last day of the Flores de Mayo. It honors the finding of the True Cross by Helena of Constantinople (known as Reyna Elena) and Constantine the Great.
The procession includes the Reynas, Sagalas (muses), Flower Girls, Angels, their Escorts and a display of biblical figures, characters of beauty, purity and fancy, and symbols of attributes to the Virgin Mary.
The FAAP is a non-profit, 501c-3 organization in Pittsburgh. We are hosting a Santa Cruzan in Pittsburgh on May 19, 2019 at the Philippine Center.
This is a fundraising event. We are asking members and friends to sponsor our candidates for "Reynas" and angel participants. The candidate with the most funds raised will be crowned as "Reyna Elena". Angels need only to raise $50.00, but any extra sponsorships are welcome. The proceeds for this fundraising will go towards the FAAP Cultural &Charity committees and the Philippine Center
