Our Mission & Vision: The mission of West County Mandarin School is to educate the whole child with the 21st Century skills to thrive in a globally connected world. The WCMS community is bonded by the desire to provide a quality, multilingual education that prepares our students to become critical thinkers and leaders. WCMS seeks to educate the whole child with a program that features dual language immersion AND integrates technology, arts, cultural awareness and social emotional learning. Subsequently, our students thrive academically, physically, and social-emotionally. They are bilingual and biliterate in both Mandarin & English and they are empathetic, respectful of diversity and of myriad perspectives.

Our Goals: WCMS is a Mandarin immersion, International Baccalaureate(IB) school.WCMS is the first Mandarin immersion public school in California to earn the acclaimed authorization as an IB school. Our program provides support for academic achievement, talent development, and an opportunity to serve the community. We also provide equitable access by allocating 50% of our enrollment for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch, are English learners, or are foster youth.

Sport-a-thon: WCMS's Fifth Annual Sport-a-thon on Friday April 29th will raise funds to support vital school enrichment programs! We are the most socio-economically and ethnically diverse school in the district. As a new public school with the district’s first Mandarin immersion program, we are committed to serving children from around West Contra Costa County. Please help us to fund important enrichment activities to benefit all children in the school.
