About this fundraiser:
New Goal: $10,000! Keep reading!! (Updated 12/19/2022)
The LO School District-Wide Read-A-Thon encourages students to read through a friendly competition while raising money to provide more access to books to students throughout Oregon.
All proceeds will be donated to SMART Reading and the Lake Oswego Public Library. SMART Reading is an organization in Oregon that provides reading support and books to children in need. Search for a student's name to donate to their page, or feel free to donate to the general page to support the cause! You can choose between a flat donation or donating per book a student reads.
To make a page for your student, click "Add participant" right under the “Group Standings” section of the website.
All books read between 12/17/2022 and 1/02/2023 count!
To encourage our young readers, we will give the school that reads the most a huge "2023 Lake Oswego Read-a-Thon Champions" banner to put in their library! Here are the current standings (we will update every few days over break):
Forest Hills: 576 books
Hallinan: 0 books
Lake Grove: 686 books
Oak Creek: 392 books
Palisades: 231 books
River Grove: 416 books
Westridge: 460 books
Additionally, EVERY school that raises $3,000 gets entered into a drawing for a schoolwide donut party! And don't worry, we'll bring alternative treats and prizes for those with allergies. If everyone in the school can raise $10-$20 dollars, your school should be able to hit $3,000!
We also have a goal for each of our students to read at least 5 books over winter break, and we will have a special award for the top reader in each grade level!
Thank you for your support! Now get reading!
Your donations will help pay for:
