Help spread the word

About this fundraiser:

Moyo Village is an animal shelter and eco-retreat space in the making on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. We currently partner with multiple animal rescue organizations for a community-based approach to reducing the overall euthanasia rates of homeless animals and solving the stray dog crisis on the island.

We support low-cost spay & neuter programs to mitigate the problem from the start, but we also work to adopt out homeless animals across the entire United States. Our goal for this year is to make Chicago an adoption hub for the Midwest, as many of the current adoption hubs are based on the East Coast. Help us raise funds to make a Chicago adoption hub a reality!

On average it costs nearly $1000 to get a stray dog from Puerto Rico (a "sato") to the United States - this is after vaccinations, de-worming, paperwork, and expensive flights. Adoption fees do not cover all of these costs, so this fundraiser will cover the beginning steps in getting dogs on their Freedom Flights and in to their forever homes. This fundraiser will also cover the costs of airline approved travel crates, which will go back and forth between Puerto Rico and Chicago.

Join us in our goal of walking 2,073 miles outside as a community during the month of August (the distance a sato will fly from SJU to ORD on their Freedom Flight!) OR sponsor a walker and pledge to donate for every mile walked!
