Churubusco Elementary and the PTO are excited to announce our 2nd annual Read-A-Thon! This year our Read-A-Thon theme is "Catch the Reading Wave" and will take place the week of September 1st-22nd. During the event it is our desire that while we work to raise money for our school, we also encourage each student to see the value of reading and help them develop a life skill they can take anywhere. On Friday, September 22nd CES will support students' love of reading through a variety of beach themed literacy activities. Family and Friends can donate to sponsor us for our learning and our goal of reading as an entire school for 90 minutes.

The money raised this year will help fund future PTO events, such as Literacy and Math Night, the Sweetheart Dance and Bingo Night, as well as continuing to restock the book vending machine!
Money donated will also help build our teacher fund for classroom materials, provide a reading incentive program, help offset the cost of future field trips and purchase STEM materials. We are so excited that we will be able to help with all of this and enhance our child’s education with a focus on reading with your help!

The best part of the Read-A-Thon is that the students are not selling anything and 100 % of the profits collected will be used at our school, unlike product fundraiser sales which net a much lower percentage to our schools. Each pledge a child receives, is 100% tax deductible as we are a non-for-profit organization. Our goal this year is for each student to read for 90 minutes on the day of the Read-A-Thon and raise $25 in sponsorships for Churubusco Elementary.
