Dear Friends and Family,

I am diving into my books and reading my best for my school's Read-a-thon. I'm excited to be a part of it because this event raises money for my school to buy new books, fun field trips, and have fun events, like the Sawyer Carnival.

I'm going to read as much as I can over the next few weeks, and I'm asking for sponsors to help me reach my fundraising goal. Will you help by making a pledge per minute that I read or a simple flat donation?

About this fundraiser:

The Sawyer Read-A-Thon is an exciting event that encourages students to read extensively while also raising crucial funds to support educational programs at Sawyer Elementary. During the event, students set reading goals and seek pledges or donations from friends and family. The more they read, the more funds they raise. This dual purpose not only instills a love for reading in our students but also provides vital resources to enhance their educational experience. By participating in the read-a-thon and supporting the fundraising efforts, parents and guardians play a significant role in nurturing their children's literacy skills while supporting students at Sawyer. This year, 25% of the proceeds will go directly to buying new books for the media center and the other 75% will be used for the other Sawyer PTO activities, such as:

* Funding teacher grants
* The Sawyer Carnival
* Sawyer Family Game Night
* STEM night
* Art & Music Showcase
* Providing funding for First Lego League, Comic Club, Mileage
Club, and other extra-curricular organizations
* Teacher appreciation activities
* House Shirts
* Field trips
* Popcorn Fridays and other PBIS materials
