About this fundraiser:

Westwood Elementary is a small school of big dreams and amazing students. It's no secret that our educational system is sorely in need of funding.

Our goal this year is to raise $12,000. This will be Westwood PFC's biggest fundraisers of the year, accounting for over 50% of our annual budget.

This organization is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Your donation is tax-deductible. Federal Tax ID # 32-0183456

Throughout the next two weeks, Westwood students will participate in the Read-a-Thon by reading every day, with their goal to read 1 hour a day for a total of 14 hours.

This is a fun and educational event that builds our students' love for reading while raising funds to support important programs and resources our school needs to help students thrive.

HOW IT WORKS
Students raise funds by asking sponsors to donate toward each hour of reading completed. Sponsors can pledge an amount per hour read (our goal is 14 hours per student) or a flat amount.

Your donations are FULLY tax deductible. Your receipt will have the information you need!

*Please note that 99Pledges will receive each student’s name, class, grade and a family email address, but all information is confidential and will NOT be shared.

SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD
Help your child build a collection of books to read by visiting your local library, recommending books through your students' Epic! account (via Clever), or asking your student's teacher for recommendations.

Use the provided Read-a-Thon log track total minutes read per day. You can download copies at

http://www.westwoodpfc.org/read-a-thon

Help your student create a schedule for when to read every day. This includes a quiet place to read, proper lighting, and encouragement from you to read at least 1 hour per day!

Help your younger students by reading with and to them!

STUDENT & CLASSROOM PRIZES
Students will earn prizes based on their average pledges per hour as well as reading participation. You can track your student's progress using the provided Pledge-o-Meter to see what prizes they have earned.

Students will earn 1 ticket for every $10 raised. These tickets can be used to enter prize drawings of their choice!

Prizes will be awarded to the classrooms who had:
- Most Amount Raised
- Most Minutes Read
- Most Number of Students Participated

The top 3 students per grade with the most number of minutes spent reading during the Read-a-Thon will be recognized with a special reading gift bag, full of fun goodies!

Westwood staff and teachers will be handing out reading "tickets" every day to students who are reading during their free time at school (recesses, lunch, quiet time in the classroom). Students can turn these tickets into the office at the end of each day. Three students will be randomly selected the next morning to receive a free book from the winter book fair.

All donations are tax deductible. Your e-receipt will have the information you need. Thank you for your support!

  • Enrichment Programs & Assemblies
  • Library Inclusion & Diversity Book Purchases
