Dear Sac United Families and Supporters,

At Sac United, soccer has always been about more than the game. It is about opportunity, belonging, and showing up for one another. As Club President, I have watched that spirit define our community.

When one of our own, Luisito Gomez, was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL Leukemia on January 27, 2024, our club rallied around him and his family. His courage inspired the creation of our Juggle-a-Thon and Blood Drive, turning a difficult chapter into a lasting mission of hope. Today, we are incredibly grateful to celebrate that Luisito has completed treatment and is doing amazing!

This September, in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I invite you to join Sac United’s 3rd Annual Juggle-a-Thon and Blood Drive for Luisito. The Juggle-a-Thon strengthens our Financial Aid Program, helping families experiencing hardship overcome financial barriers. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to play, grow, and belong. Your donation helps keep soccer within reach for more children, allowing them to build confidence, form lasting friendships, and experience the value of being part of a team.

The event also supports the Mama Bears Fund for Childhood Cancer and the Sweet Dream Foundation—two organizations chosen by Luisito’s family because of the instrumental role they played throughout his treatment journey.

Our Blood Drive offers another meaningful way to carry Luisito’s mission forward. By registering to donate blood on October 1, you can honor his journey while bringing hope to patients and families facing serious medical challenges.

I am asking every Sac United family, Alumni, and supporter to take part in at least one way:

* Sponsor a player - with a per-juggle pledge or make a flat donation.

* Register to donate blood on October 1 - in honor of Luisito.

* Share the campaign - and encourage others to participate.

The strength of this campaign is not measured by the size of any one contribution, but by how many of us choose to take part. One pledge can help keep a child in the game. One blood-donation appointment can bring hope to someone in need. One shared message can inspire another person to act.

Thank you for standing with our players, Luisito, and families affected by childhood cancer.

Together, we can make a difference.

With gratitude,

Albert Regalado
