Dear Friends and Family,

I have been working hard this off-season to improve myself for the game I love. My team and I have been preparing for our LIFT-A-THON to help raise money to buy equipment for our weight room, a building on campus we call “The Sweat Shop.” I have been doing my part by training and I am asking you to help support our cause.

On Saturday, August 21st, my teammates and I are going to max lift on two lifts: Bench Press and Deadlift. I would be grateful if you would like to pledge an amount for each pound I lift. It can be a penny, a nickel, a dollar – whatever you’d like. If you prefer, you could also just donate a flat amount. Everything helps! My team and our school rely on support from friends and family like you!

A portion of the funds raised will also go to support the YWCA Yakima, a non-profit that provides a safe and nurturing place for victims of domestic violence in Yakima.

The La Salle High School football program is an extension of the Ministry of the school. The Mission of our football team is to prepare and develop young men to be student-athletes and citizens who do what is right, who do their best, and who show others they care.

The Sweat Shop is more than just our weight room. It’s also our locker room and meeting space for the team. Many memories and relationships have been built in The Sweat Shop. It’s a place where we have grown as young men, as student-athletes, as teammates, and as leaders. Currently, there is a very limited budget to support The Sweat Shop. This lift-a-thon will help expand and update the equipment in The Sweat Shop to continue serving both the Mission of La Salle High School and the Mission of the football program. Know that your support is greatly appreciated and is making a difference in the lives of the young men of our school and program.
