Dear Friends and Family,

I'm participating in the Ridgecrest Elementary Readathon from February 12th to March 1st! This event is not only about reading but also about raising funds to support our school's important programs, like funding our library, providing supplies to our teachers, and allowing us funds for field trips!

You can support me by pledging a certain amount for each minute I spend reading or by making a flat-rate donation. Every bit counts, and your support means the world to me!

Goal: My reading goal is to reach at least 600 minutes during the Read-a-thon. Last year, the average reading time was an amazing 700 minutes per student!

Sample Pledge: For example, if you pledge 5-10 cents per minute and I read 500 minutes, your total pledge would be $25-$50. Feel free to choose an amount that works for you. (If I exceed 1,000 minutes, the PTA will contact you for pledge approval before charging your card.)

Thank you for your support!

About this fundraiser:

Ridgecrest Elementary's annual Readathon will take place from February 12th through March 1st, 2024. We can't wait to see our students dive into the world of books!

Readathon Details:

Dates: February 12th - March 1st
Platform: We will be using 99 Pledges for our Readathon. Students can create their own fundraising pages to make the reading experience even more engaging.
How to Participate:

Create and Share Your Fundraising Page: This is a fantastic opportunity for students to share their love for reading and encourage friends and family to support their efforts.

Log Reading Minutes: Throughout the Readathon period, students can log the minutes they spend reading on their 99 Pledges page and/or the coloring sheet they bring home from school. This not only helps in tracking progress but also contributes to the overall goal of promoting literacy.

Prizes for All Participants:
Every student who participates in the Readathon will receive a special acknowledgment for their efforts. We believe that every reader deserves recognition and encouragement!

Top Readers' Prizes:
In addition to the participation prizes, we will be awarding special prizes to those students who accumulate the most reading minutes. It's a friendly competition that adds an extra layer of excitement to the Readathon.

Encouraging a Love for Reading:
The Readathon is not just about raising funds; it's also about fostering a love for reading. We encourage you to spend quality time with your child, exploring new books, and sharing the joy of storytelling.

Volunteer Opportunities:
If you would like to volunteer or contribute in any way to make this event a success, please contact readathon@ridgecrestpta.org.

We're counting on your support to make this Readathon a memorable and successful event for our Ridgecrest Elementary community. Let's celebrate the joy of reading together!

Thank you for your continued partnership.
