Dear Friends and Family,

I am diving into my books and reading for my school's Read-a-Thon. I'm excited to be a part of it because this event raises money to support all students reading, especially those associated with Children's Miracle Network (specifically Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock and NWA) and Arkansas Kids Read.

I'm going to read as much as I can over the next few weeks, and I'm asking for sponsors to help me reach my fundraising goal. Will you help by making a pledge per minute that I read (60 minutes max) or a simple flat donation?

About this fundraiser:

Our goal is to get all our students reading at high levels so they can have a life of possibility and options. To be successful readers, we know that students need access to books, choice of the books they read as well as long opportunities to read. We also know that if children don't read during the school breaks (winter, spring break, and summer) they will experience regression in their reading. Therefore, Sonora has hosted reading challenges during these times. For Spring Break our student leadership team wanted to do something different that would also involve a component of giving back to our community. All K-5th grade students will be given an opportunity to participate in our Read-a-Thon with all proceeds going to the Children's Miracle Network, Arkansas Children's Hospital, and the Arkansas Kids Read non-profit. We hope you help us spread the joy and love for literacy in Northwest Arkansas and across the state!
