Help spread the word
Dear Friends and Family,
I'm rolling out my yoga mat on October 1st from 9 - 11 am to practice alongside Shri teachers and supporters in Pawtucket to raise funds for free yoga outreach classes for underserved populations statewide.
Because 100 percent of the proceeds raised will fund free classes immediately, I'm really excited to be a part of this event, and I would appreciate your support by making a donation here to "Sponsor My Spot."
For Your Reference:
- $30 funds the purchase of 3 yoga mats for students across all our outreach projects
- $60 funds one free yoga outreach class (online or in person) at a partner agency including: shelters, schools, hospitals, recovery centers, senior centers, social service agencies for adults with disabilities, agencies for veterans and more.
Multiply that ... so many students served!
So thank you for your consideration this year in "Sponsoring My Spot" at Shri!
About this fundraiser:
"Sponsor" a Shri teacher or supporter in "A Spot " on Saturday, October 1st!
We will be practicing live inside the Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket's gym from 9 - 11 am. Alyssa Sullivan will lead the yoga practice with Alison Bologna and Shannon Menihan leading us through introductions, intentions and closing.
Since the onset of COVID-19, the demand for our programs continues to grow, and we are now serving organizations both in person and with live, virtual classes across all our outreach programs!
Shri Service Corps™ is Shri's 501(c)3 non-profit arm, which funds and delivers free Shri yoga outreach programs, 7 days of every week, for special-needs populations and their staff in studios, social service agencies and municipal institutions with skilled teachers, trained on a joyful, rhythm-based curriculum, cultivating compassionate, balanced and inclusive communities intended to reduce toxic stress while increasing physical and emotional stamina through shared, effective and efficient methods rooted in yogic philosophy and informed practices.
Annually, Shri serves more than 8,500 people, ages 5 - 102, throughout the state. Our students are in schools, hospitals, shelters, recovery centers (and more!), and our curriculum is delivered by more than 43 certified teachers who are helping Rhode Islanders reduce toxic stress and improve overall health and quality of life. In 2020 & 2021, we held 2,903 free yoga outreach classes. With your help, we can continue to make a big impact in our community!
