The Blue Grass Elementary PTO is excited to host our 5th Annual Blue Grass Dash on Friday, November 1, 2024! We look forward to continuing this fun and healthy fundraiser! The Blue Grass Dash is the PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we need your help!

Blue Grass believes that ensuring students feel safe, connected, and cared for is crucial to student growth and success, and they are passionate about further connecting the students of all grade levels through the Eagle’s Nest Initiative. They believe that the more students feel like they are part of a true school “family,” the higher our students will achieve academically and develop as great citizens. We hope to use PTO funds to continue to support this important initiative and help to continue to improve the learning environment, while focusing on student connectivity, natural mentorships, and the further development of character and manners.

We also look forward to brightening up the walls throughout the school. We hope to add an Eagles’ Nest Wall of Fame as well as memorable framed pieces of artwork from past and present Blue Grass students and staff. These additions will allow us to celebrate the family culture our community is so invested in and help make Blue Grass feel even more like “home” for our staff and students.

This year, we also look forward to adding to both the aesthetic & functional appeal of our indoor and outdoor facilities, as well as strengthening our literacy program by purchasing a significant number of new books for our library. The first step of this plan is to contract an artist to work with the school to create a beautiful, new, and inviting mural in the front hallway that encapsulates qualities and characteristics that make Blue Grass what it is today.

Lastly, in 2023, we kicked off our capital campaign to update our sports field. This collective effort will help to improve the amenities not only for Blue Grass staff, students and their families but also those in our community who utilize our front grounds for their families, friends, and community sports leagues. We are halfway to our goal thanks to your generosity, with $80,000 in the campaign fund! To start the project and begin construction, we must raise an additional $80,000.

This year’s fundraising goal for the Blue Grass Dash is $40,000. Family and friends can sponsor students with either a per-lap rate or a flat donation. Each student will complete a total of 8 laps, so please consider this when planning your contributions.

We are so excited to be able to provide our school with things that it would otherwise not receive. We are proud to be a part of the Blue Grass Community! We invite and encourage you to join us on Dash Day to cheer your student on! See you at the Blue Grass Dash on Friday, November 1st!
