Dear Friends and Family,

I am participating in a school wide fundraiser for Cottage Grove Middle School. This event raises money for myself and my school. Your donation helps create fun learning activities and oppurutnites for me throughout the school year. Cottage Grove Middle School will be participating together by either running or reading to help strengthen our school community.

I would appreciate it (and so would my 1000 schoolmates) if you could help support me.

2024-2025 Cougar Fun Run & Read Fundraiser

Hello CGMS parents and guardians.

The CGMS PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is excited to announce that we will be having a Cougar Fun Run & Read fundraiser for CGMS students on Friday October 4th, 2024. This is the main fundraiser for CGMS for the 2024-2025 school year.Last year we were able to supply fund classrooms supplies, fun things for students throughout the year (including an ice cream social to celebrate the end of MCAs), and new furniture for the rotunda.

We are once again partnering with 99 Pledges which is an organization that allows schools to keep 99 percent of the money collected.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

*All students will participate in the Fun Run & Read during 2nd hour on Friday October 4th.
*Students electing to run will complete a 5K course on the fields at school. Certificates will be awarded to the top finishers (male/female) for each grade level.
*Student electing to read will spend the hour (2nd hour) reading. 6th and 7th Grade students will use their grade level reading logs 8thgrade students will receive a reading log in their Language Arts class on September 16th
*Certificates will be awarded to the top readers (male/female) for each grade level.
*Student reading totals will count from when they first received their reading logs until October 4th.
*All students who participate will receive a ticket in a drawing for a prize.
*Students who raise funds for the Cougar Fun Run & Read will receive raffle tickets to enter prize drawings! For every $25 increment raised, students will receive an additional tickets (no limit!).
*Students who raise money will be able to choose which prize basket drawings they would like for these entries. (Baskets from last year included Apple Air Pods, Mini Fridges, and Snack baskets!)
*The advisory class from each house that raises the most money will earn donuts for their classroom the week of October 7th!
*The grade level that raises the most money will get to see their teachers perform a lipsych to the song of their choice (school approved) at the next Cougar Assembly on October 11th!
