Dear Friends and Family,

I am lacing up my sneakers next month and running my best at the Cabrillo Elementary Turkey-Trot Jogathon. This event raises money for me and my classmates to continue to be enriched with Science, Art, Drama and other programs that are essential but no longer provided by our education system, as well as helps the school provide us more recess equipment and enrichment opportunities.

I would appreciate it (and so would my 150 schoolmates) if you could help support me.

About this fundraiser:

WHAT: Turkey-Trot (Annual Jogathon)
Students will walk, jog, or run as many laps as they desire. TK - 1st grades will participate for 45 minutes, and 2nd - 4th graders for 60 minutes. While the TK- 1st group is running, the 2nd-4th graders will have fun participating in dancing, an obstacle course, martial arts and more. At the midpoint, we take a snack and rest break and the groups will switch.

WHEN: Friday, November 8th, 2019, 9a.m. - 12p.m.
Turkey-Trot Schedule: Set-up: 8am
Kick-off 9am
Ends at noon- students go to lunch, clean up

WHY: To promote health and wellness in a fun way while building community and engaging all of our Explorers and Explorer Guides. Our community partners create relationships with us and the students get a chance to experience activities that the kids look forward to year after year including dance, martial arts, basketball, our obstacle course and more.

This is our largest fundraiser of the year which supports the school and our Exceptional Explorers through assemblies, field trips, enrichment activities, etc.

2019 GOAL: We are reaching for the stars for our Explorers this year. We have set a goal of $12,000 - which would almost double what we raised last year. If we reach the goal, each student gets to throw a water balloon at Mrs. Vogel who will wear a pink wig for the day.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to top runners for the school and every student with donations will be entered into a drawing to win prizes.
