Help spread the word

Terina Papatu

Between Oct.14 and Nov. 7, HSM/Hawkeye/TEMPO/Esoteros leadership staff members are voluntarily performing random acts of kindness and committing important acts of journalism in order to improve MTHS and our local communities.

Will you help by making a pledge per hour that I volunteer/mentor (20 hours max) or by making a simple flat donation?

These funds go directly toward raising funds to help defray the costs of participating in the national convention this fall in Philadelphia. These conferences are the premiere conventions in the world for student journalists, featuring more that 250 sessions, workshops, clinics and presentations.

This Volunteer-A-Thon is inspired by Jim "Animal" Pecotte – the long-time MTHS custodian who took care of the Hawkeye staff for 20+ years. Before Jim passed away, he and his family donated to the journalism program, so we're doing this fundraiser in his honor.

Thank you for all of your support and encouragement!

About this fundraiser:

Between Oct.14 and Nov. 7, HSM/Hawkeye/TEMPO/Esoteros leadership staff members are voluntarily performing random acts of kindness and committing important acts of journalism in order to improve MTHS and our local communities.

These students are hoping you might pledge a few dollars to support their efforts. These funds go directly toward raising funds to help defray the costs of participating in the national convention this fall in Philadelphia.

The mission of the Hawkeye/TEMPO/Esoteros, as designated open public forums faithfully serving our audience since 1960, is to provide the MTHS community with quality, thought-provoking, student produced publications.

HSM/Hawkeye/TEMPO/Esoteros are student-centered, student-managed publications where learning thrives and students are honored for the important work they produce. Since their inception in 1960, these publications have enjoyed a national reputation as some of the top student publications. We believe that this is because of the incredible students who work on the publications, the awesome staff and school administration who believe that relationships with students are key to optimal learning, and more importantly the incredible support of our families and community. We simply could not engage in the wonderful learning opportunities and the fun things we do without your monetary support.

Please know that no donation amount is too small. Your ongoing backing and support are truly appreciated.
