Help spread the word
Dear Friends and Family,
I am doing a cold plunge tomorrow to raise money for the Patient Fund at the ALS Clinic of Maine in memory of my dad. My mom canβt join me this year, but she will be with me in spirit β€οΈ This fundraiser is not only near and dear or to our heart, but also to the Spark cycling community who is trying to raise a total of $35,000, and we are well on our way!
I'm super excited to be a part of this event and am hoping you'll support me by making a flat donation, big or small, as I intend to do a full five minutes in the ice bath!
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement! Love you all!
Megan
About this fundraiser:
Spark Cycling is turning 4! And as always, we're raising money to celebrate π₯³
The 2nd Annual Plunge for the Funds raises money for the Patient Fund at the ALS Clinic at Mid Coast Hospital, the only such clinic in the state. ALS is a progressive disease in which a person's brain slowly loses connection with the muscles, taking away their ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe.
Living with ALS is extremely expensive as accessibility and mobility become more of a hurdle as the disease advances. Many patients do not have the financial means to buy adaptive equipment and many times, insurance doesn't cover the things that truly improve their quality of life. That's where the Patient Fund comes in! The ALS Clinic manages the fund, distributing funds to patients around the state.
So how will we do that? Remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? Well, we're taking it up a notch with cold plunges π₯Ά We'll have three cold plunge tubs with each plunge raising money. The longer plungers stay in, the more money they raise π΅ Last year we raised $33,000 and we are pumped to make an even bigger impact this year ππ»
