For generations, the Richmond Steelers Football Program has provided a safe and supportive space for promising youth in the City of Pride & Purpose to learn and transform into future leaders in their communities. In an effort to support the current 9-year-old Steelers, the Richmond Steelers developed the Steel Scholars program - a program designed to support our boys and girls as they continue to grow and mature as scholars and athletes. The Steel Scholars program is a yearlong, wraparound, high-school preparation program aimed at supporting students and athletes throughout the year. Among other things, the Steel Scholars program will ensure students have access to essential academic resources, arrange tours of college campuses, and provide opportunities for students to engage with leaders and role models in the community – all of this with the goal of increasing student achievement, promoting youth leadership, and supporting positive community growth.
